Onetruemedia is a Web 2.0 that allows anyone to create video montage that can then be shared by embed codes, links, or even DVD’s. I chose this site because I have clients that have asked me to create video montages for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries in the past. I always knew how easy it was to create these montages and now, with a site like onetruemedia.com, anyone can do it with ease.

Onetruemedia allows the user to upload photos or videos, or link to external sites, such as flickr to access media. The user then chooses a style they would like their montage to follow. Popular models are scrapbook, graduations, first love, etc. After choosing a style, the user can then add special effects, transitions, captions, and music.

After the user has created the montage they like, they can share it with who ever they desire. Onetruemedia offers multiple ways to share your montage. The easiest way is to create a link to your montage that you can share with people. Another way to share your montage is by embedding it into your website or blog using the embed code created by onetruemedia. Another way to share your montage, and perhaps the way that would prevent me from gaining any more clients, is by DVD. Onetruemedia will create a high quality DVD of your montage that you can purchase.

This tool is great for people to use media to tell their stories. I will share this newly discovered Web 2.0 with my friends and family because I know they will love to create their own montages….and stop expecting me to do it for every occasion! Great tool!

Here is an example of a montage that you might enjoy.

  1. Jeff....what a great tool for personal and professional use. I find myself getting excited about all of the creative ways to capture and celebrate important events that these Web 2.0 tools provide. In our MLT class I struggled to think of ways to celebrate student achievement in creative, age appropriate ways. This would be a great tool to use to make a class video montage to share with students at the end of semester. Thanks for the great tool.

  2. This is awesome I will be using this tool definitely because I get asked to do these types of things all the time. I am so glad that ways of presenting pictures and videos are becoming easier and easier by the day. I was having to go through long processes to get things like this done. These webtools are really going to make my job easier.

  3. Hi Jeff,
What a great tool! I truly enjoyed going through your explanations about this 2.0 website. I think that my students will benefit a great deal from it. I could see them using it to tell their stories while enhancing their writing and speaking skills. I am very confident that my students will love it!
    I just bookmarked it:)
    Thanks so much for sharing.

  4. This is so cool! I too see applications for personal use and professional. Teaching in Multimedia, we offer a storyboarding class that mostly hand drawn works. I can see this as another delivery medium for those students. They could upload to flickr and provide feedback to each other. Thanks for sharing!!!

  5. Hi Jeff, go figure that you would select a multimedia tool. I found this interesting because you mentioned the graduation template that was included. I am currently looking at creating a graduation montage for my son graduating high school. I was originally looking at creating the slideshow in I-Movie but we have a number of relatives that live out of state and I don't have an efficient method for distributing what I would create. It looks as if with the Onetruemedia web site I would be able to post this to a link and load that link to facebook or an email.

I could see using this tool to generate a montage of the student's work for presenting at graduation.
